Buona Pasqua (Happy Easter)!
Traditional Easter foods include lamb, artichokes and special Easter breads that vary from region to region. The most famous of these sweet breads is teh Colomba cake, which is often given as a gift and shared amongst friends. Like the panettone,it's melt-in-the-mouth light but has the addition of a delicate sugar icing scattered with almonds. It's traditionally baked in a dove shap mould (although it's hard to distinguish this at first glance!) Colomba means 'dove' in Italian.
Whilst it can be eaten for breakfast and is delicious with a cappuccino, we think a glass of Moscato is fantasric with it.
