Until this year I had always rejected Channel 4s suggestion that I took part in their Undercover Boss series. I didn’t think it would be insightful and I didn’t think they could disguise me well enough. I was utterly wrong on both counts!

This winter saw our Chef of the Year Champion take part in the Chef Inspiration Masterclass at the House of Peroni. Ready to prove their culinary creativity, 8 chefs from far and wide were invited to cook before the Costardis at their restaurant in Vercelli.

Last night, we were thrilled to be presented with the ‘Quality Big Brand Award’ at the biggest awards ceremony in the restaurant sector: the annual CGA Peach Awards. The award is based on a survey of almost 6000 people throughout the UK, so it’s very much a people’s-choice award, which makes it a particularly sweet victory for us. The category takes into consideration the quality of the food, service and ambience; all factors that we care enormously about.

This week our team made their annual trip to Bologna to visit our olive oil producers in the nearby countryside. We’ve been making this journey for many years now - it’s a great opportunity for the team to get together and practice their olive picking skills whilst also learning about what goes into every bottle of extra virgin olive oil. They soon discover that it’s a lot!
