Glasgow has been named one of the most bustling, liveliest and cosmopolitan cities in Europe with lots to offer for all visitors and residents.

The best bit of advice that can be given to anyone visiting is don’t forget to look up! Glasgow is rich in architecture dating from the Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian times and if you look up at the buildings themselves you’ll see the intricate stonework carved on the sandstone buildings and even the odd gargoyle or two.

Glasgow City has been reborn as a centre of style and vitality after being named the European City of Culture in 1990, the city boasts world famous art collections, the best shopping in the United Kingdom outside London, Buchanan Street is the best place to start which leads to most of the main shopping areas.

You’ll find Princes Square here - a hive of activity, filled with a mixture of designer shops, trendy restaurants and bars, the perfect venue for meeting friends. At the top of Buchanan Street you’ll find Buchanan Galleries, home to most of the leading high-street store chains but up and down the street itself are excellent shops offering something for everyone.

It boasts the only underground system outside London affectionately called The Clockwork Orange. Of course, if that doesn’t tempt a move – try the favourite non alcoholic tipple – Irn Bru
