Stratford Upon Avon
As the birthplace of William Shakespeare, it attracts million’s of people from all over world who come to pay homage to ‘TheBard’.
Shakespeare is not the only famous inhabitant, it has also been the temporary home to the hundreds of Actors who have walked the boards at Stratford’s Theatre’s including Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Doctor Who.
During WWII, Stratford could have played a very important part in the war effort.
Had the Germans forces invaded the UK there were plans afoot to make Stratford on Avon the temporary seat of Parliment.
