Our Coffee

As in Italy, we take our coffee seriously at Carluccio’s, from ensuring our growers are paid a fair price for the beans to the training and development of our team of Baristi.
Our two blends of coffee: the smoother Milano and richer Napoli, are exclusively roasted for us by a family-run roaster in Piacenza in the heart of Emilia Romagna. The Milano - is a blend of Arabica beans mainly from South America. The Napoli - has a hint of top-quality Robusta beans added to the blend for an extra ‘kick’ reflecting the difference in coffee styles between the North and South of Italy. Each year a group of our best Baristi visit Piacenze to see for themselves, what goes in to creating our coffee.Once roasted, the beans make their way to the caffès to be skilfully turned into one of our coffees.
Every Carluccio’s Barista is trained to make coffees in the traditional Italian way; from using full-fat milk, to gently heating the foam to just the right temperature.
One of our Baristi, Naveen - from our Reading caffe recently made it to the UK finals of the Brasilia Barista Challenge finishing a respectable 5th in the UK.
