The Mazzei family have owned the Fonterutoli estate in the heart of Chianti since 1435. Production of the wine takes place in and around the eponymous hamlet - the ancient villagecellars are filled with maturing casks of wine while the villagers themselves live on the floors above. A rich and well-rounded red, full of black cherry and spice flavours.
