Almond & Hazelnut cake with a dark chocolate covering

Made with hazelnuts and almonds, candied fruits and cherries, chocolate and spices. Finally dipped and encased in dark chocolate. 

A Traditional recipe of Siena, much like it’s cousin the Panforte, it has many spices that give it a real Christmassy flavour and aroma. The spices are a mix reminiscent of the towns medieval glory, when spices were imported from the East and used only to flavour the finest foods
