“If I could take only the basics of Italian food with me to a desert island, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose hard grained flour, tomatoes, olive oil and parmesan cheese. If I could take some flavourings I would take some basil and garlic”
Carluccio’s began life in 1991 when Antonio and Priscilla opened their food shop in Neal Street, bringing the finest quality regional Italian food to London.
They carefully wrote each label by hand and explored the length and breadth of Italy to find the best ingredients. In 1999 they opened the first Carluccio’s Caffè in Market Place – an authentic Italian restaurant in the truest sense of the word, and a continuation of their successful food shop.
Their aim was to provide great quality, authentic Italian food at sensible prices, and to provide informal but excellent service to our customers. That aim remains the same today. We cook by Antonio’s motto, MOF MOF. Minimum of fuss, maximum of flavour.
We have 30 restaurants across the UK and Ireland with a franchise business in the Middle East.
At Carluccio’s we are always looking for new ways to do our bit for the environment. This is why we have partnered with the Rainforest Foundation UK.
We are proud to say that every cup of coffee that you enjoy at Carluccio’s, will help to protect 33m2 of rainforest in the Congo Basin. That is the equivalent of an average sized house in the UK!
