Mali
Funds raised by Carluccio’s through The Antonio Carluccio Foundation are currently supporting an Action Against Hunger nutrition project in Mali, West Africa, where high acute malnutrition rates are cutting short thousands of young lives every year. Because over 75% of the population live in rural areas, many have to travel long distances to reach the nearest health centre, which means that malnourished children are unable to access the treatment they desperately need. Action Against Hunger is working in Mali to increase the number of children treated for malnutrition by training Community Health Workers to identify children at risk and referring them for appropriate treatment. This is revolutionising the way malnourished children are diagnosed and treated so that they are able to grow up strong and healthy.
Carluccio’s has also supported Action Against Hunger projects in Liberia, Zambia, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Senegal providing children and their families with happier, healthier futures.
