Italian Wine Journey – Il Bianco

Take a journey through the regions of Italy in the form of wine. 

We have chosen 6 wines from from bountiful wine making regions, with classic wines and grape varieties that will make a stunning gift for the wine lover in your life…

Starting in the very North of Italy in Trento Alto-Adige from Alois Lageder on the foot of the Doolomites, an organic Pinot Grigio , staying north, moving down into Friuli-Venezia Giulia we give you a Sauvignon Blanc that presents itself differently on the nose and palate to your average Sauvignon’s, a unique wine. Staying in the north east, we move to Veneto and have a superb Soave Classico from Suavia, a vineyard in the hands of three sisters presented in a modern way not always associated with Soave. 

We head out west to Piemonte, in the heart of Gavi country. Ascheri’s Gavi di Gavi. Ascheri have been harvesting the local Cortese grape and making wine since 1880.

Then we head South, to the heal of the boot, Puglia. We have chosen an organic Fiano from Zensa, which literally translates to “without”. A reference to their wine making philosophy of fully organic with as little human interference as possible. Then across the water to Sicily to a producer based in the foothills of Mount Etna. Here we have selected a wine using Carricante that has a bold and nimble style, with fresh, white fruit and herbaceous aromas. Torre Mora have been certified organic since 2015.
