Description

Striking black spaghetti made with natural cuttlefish ink, bringing subtle savoury depth and a distinctive sea-inspired character to the plate.

Made in the coastal town of Riccione, Emilia-Romagna, from premium Italian durum wheat semolina enriched with cuttlefish ink. The long strands are carefully bent around a pin during drying, creating their characteristic shape as well as their dramatic deep-black colour.

A natural match for seafood and shellfish. Pair with our Sugo alle Vongole for a classic clam and tomato combination, Sugo alla Triglia for the delicate sweetness of red mullet, or Ragù di Polpo for a richer, slow-cooked seafood dish. Finish simply with extra virgin olive oil, fresh parsley or a touch of chilli.

Emilia-Romagna

Emilia-Romagna is the north-eastern region of Italy, home to two historic regions of ‘Emilia’ & ‘Romagna’.

Its capital and largest city is Bologna, famous for its beautiful buildings, architecture and churches dating from the Roman period. The University of Bologna is the world’s oldest university, founded in 1088.

On a slightly more modern front, Emilia-Romagna is the automotive centre of Italy. Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Maseratis are all made in the region. However, it is also the birth place of some of the most traditional and well-known Italian foods: Parma prosciutto ham, balsamic vinegar (only made in the cities of Modena and Reggio-Emilia) and Parmigiano Reggiano (parmesan cheese).
